The Worrall House

This imposing Italianate plastered-stone structure was built by Sharpless Worrall in 1860 as a residence for his large family.  All of the rooms were heated by individual stoves that were vented through the "chimney pots" located on the roof.  Elaborate porches with delicate trellises were constructed on the east and north sides, and the hipped roof was crowned by a belvedere, which provided a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside.  All of the exposed top surfaces are covered with bright red, standing-seam tin roofs.

Come visit residents Ruth Van Tassel and Don Baumann of American Antiques and Antique Needlework.
