Facilities Manager (Part-Time)

Historic Sugartown, Inc. (HSI) is seeking a reliable and self-motivated Facilities Manager to help maintain and preserve our historic village and properties. This part-time position offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to contribute directly to the stewardship of one of Chester County’s treasured historic sites.

Position Summary
The Facilities Manager is responsible for performing routine, seasonal, and preventative maintenance throughout Historic Sugartown’s campus and rental properties. The position supports the organization’s preservation mission by helping ensure that buildings, grounds, and systems remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Performing routine maintenance and repairs throughout the site
Maintaining and monitoring water treatment systems
Performing housekeeping and facility upkeep as needed
Completing seasonal maintenance tasks such as window washing, assistance with decorating, and winter prep.
Coordinating and overseeing outside contractors and repair services when appropriate
Assisting staff with event and program setup, breakdown, and site preparation
Serving as the on-call contact for maintenance emergencies involving Historic Sugartown’s residential and commercial tenants
Monitoring buildings and grounds for maintenance and preservation concerns
Working with the Executive Director to identify and prioritize ongoing preservation and maintenance needs
Supporting the overall appearance, safety, and functionality of the site

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

General maintenance, facilities, or property management experience
Basic knowledge of building systems and repair techniques
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials as needed
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Experience working with historic properties or preservation projects is a plus but not required.

Schedule
Hours: Approximately 20-25 hours per week
Flexible schedule; specific days and hours will be mutually agreed upon
This position does not include vacation, personal, or sick leave benefits
